A.G. (Pete) Whitener Scholarship Fund
The A.G. (Pete) Whitener Scholarship was established with a gift made to High Point College by the Whitener Academy of High Point in November 1982 to honor it’s founder, Mr. A. G. “Pete” Whitener. Recipients of the Whitener Scholarship will be selected by the Office of Financial Planning. First preference will go to students seeking degrees from the Earl N. Phillips School of Business with majors in home furnishings marketing. In the absence of an applicant meeting the first qualification, consideration will be given to students working for any of the several degree offerings within the Phillips School of Business. There are no geographical limitations as to the place of residence of the recipient and there are no restrictions prohibiting the same individual from receiving the award in successive years based upon satisfactory completion of the previous year’s work.
