Al Levy Memorial Endowed Scholarship

The Al Levy Memorial Scholarship was established in July 2000 by members of Furniture Marketing Group (FMG, based in High Point NC), past members of Retailer’s Marketing Group (RMG, now FMG), furniture industry leaders and companies as a memorial to the founder and guiding force behind RMG. RMG was organized into a group of independent furniture retailers that could share ideas and cooperate on buying, advertising, and other areas in order to be successful retail furniture merchants. Many of the alliances formed among former RMG members and FMG members and ideas generated through FMG meetings throughout the years have been essential in the development of some of the strongest retail stores in the United States today. The scholarship will be awarded to students majoring in home furnishings related majors at HPU who intend a career in the home furnishings industry. Recipients will be selected by the Office of Financial Planning. Scholarships automatically renewed upon successful completion of previous year’s work.
