Anne Kerr Walker Community Events Endowed Fund
The Anne Kerr Walker Community Events Endowed Fund (Walker Community Events Fund) was established in February 2016. Mrs. Walker is a 1960 graduate of High Point University majoring in Education. After graduation, she became a high school teacher and served in that role for 30 years. Following her retirement from education, she entered the world of real estate and service. She is married to Dr. Lawrence C. Walker, Jr. Mrs. Walker’s life has been one of continued commitment to organizations and the individuals that they serve. She has actively served her alma mater, High Point University, in various roles: Board of Trustees, President of Steel Magnolias, and Board of Visitors. The Walker Community Events Endowed Fund will support one (1) or more programs each year (based on available funding) as part of the University’s Community Enrichment Series. Annually, the University will consult with Mrs. Walker to determine which program(s) scheduled on the University’s Community Enrichment Calendar will be sponsored by the Fund. Mrs. Walker’s participation and support of these programs will be recognized in the promotion of the event and as part of the introduction of the program at the time of the performance.
