Anzelette Prevost Smith Chair of Athletic Training

The Anzelette Prevost Smith Chair of Athletic Training was established in 1999 by Dr. Carl M. Smith and members of the Smith Family. Anzelette Prevost Smith was the wife of Dr. Carl Smith ‘33, an alumna from the High Point College Class of 1932, and a member of Sigma Alpha Phi Sorority. As a result of her major in home economics, “Anzie” had a lifelong interest in nutrition and health awareness. The Smith Chair of Athletic Training is an endowed fund with spending limited only to income which is derived from the University’s investment program and is intended to enhance the athletic training program, formerly known as the sports medicine program already established at the time of the gift. The intent of the fund is to provide distinction, prestige, and prominence to this academic endeavor at High Point University. The department head of the Athletic Training program will be designated as the holder of the Distinguished Chair of Athletic Training.
