C. Edmund Ridge Endowed Scholarship

The C. Edmund Ridge Endowed Scholarship was established in 2007 by Mr. Charles Edmund Ridge of Hillsville, Virginia. Mr. Ridge was a High Point College alumnus, member of the Class of 1937. He returned to Virginia to pursue a career in business and established the Hillsville Ben Franklin Department Store which he operated for his entire business career. Mr. Ridge’s wife, Ruth, pre-deceased him. Recipients of The Ridge Scholarship will be selected by the Office of Financial Planning. Preference will be given to any student at High Point University showing potential for success in the field of business. Priority will be given to students from Virginia, but no other criteria are necessary to fulfill the requirements of the scholarship. Scholarships may be renewable upon successful completion of the previous year’s work.
