Clifford R. Hinshaw Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship was established on May 5, 1979 by the High Point College Class of 1939 to honor the memory of Dr. Clifford R. Hinshaw who served the College so faithfully from 1927 until his death on April 11, 1967. Dr. Hinshaw joined the faculty as Professor of Education, served as Dean of Instruction, organized the Summer School in 1927, and served as its director, and continued to teach in the Department of Education and Psychology following his retirement as Dean and Director of the Summer School in 1955. Dr. Hinshaw organized the Evening School in 1960 and served as its director until his death. Recommendations for recipients of the Hinshaw scholarship may come from any source, but the final decision for the recipient(s) shall rest exclusively with The Scholarship Committee of the High Point University Alumni Association. There are no restrictions other than that the grant will be made to deserving students seeking an education at High Point University. There are no restrictions with respect to grant being made to the same recipient, or recipients, in successive years. * This is an Alumni Association Scholarship *
