Cook-Boyle Family Endowed Scholarship
The Cook-Boyle Family Endowed Scholarship was established in January 2019 by Mrs. Cher Cook-Boyle, and her son, Matt Boyle, of Bel Air, Maryland. Cher Cook-Boyle comes from a family of entrepreneurs. The family business, Northeastern Supply Company, began with two small stores in 1972 and has grown to 37 branches across the mid-Atlantic. The family had a passion to give back to the community they loved, so as their business grew, they shared their blessings to make their community stronger. The Cook-Boyle Family created this endowed scholarship as a way of encouraging students to follow the pattern that brought their family success … work hard, pursue their dreams, and live a life of significance by being generous along the way. Cher has been involved in Upper Chesapeake Medical Center, Father Martin’s Ashley, Harford County Humane Society and All Mutts Matter Animal Foundation. She is on the Board of Directors of Homecoming, a women’s transitional home in Bel Air. Her passion is helping women choose sober, productive lives that lead to healing of both individuals and the community. This family spirit of giving has been recognized by being honored as Philanthropist of the Year in Bel Air, MD. Matt, a member of the Class of 2019, majored in Business, and minored in Sales and Psychology. When he was 15 years old, he created his own summer business in Ocean City, MD, called Mattyboh’s Munchies, which supplied treats to recreational boaters and fishermen who were enjoying the delights of summertime on the water. Matt realizes how blessed they have been and is also taking an interest in giving back. The Cook-Boyle Family desires to support an eligible undergraduate student(s) with financial need as determined by the High Point University Office of Financial Planning. First preference will be given to a student(s) with a GPA of 2.75 or above. This scholarship will be renewable upon successful completion of the previous year’s work.
