David and Betty Francis Endowed Scholarship

The David L. and Betty Lord Francis Endowed Scholarship was established in 1994. Mr. Francis was a member of the Class of 1955 majoring in business administration. Mrs. Francis graduated in 1957 with a bachelor of arts degree in education. Residents of Charlotte, NC, Mrs. Francis has served as an elementary school teacher in the public school system, and Mr. Francis served as president of a real estate mortgage firm prior to his retirement, and has been a member of the University’s Board of Trustees since 1976. Recipients will be selected based on financial need. Priority will be given to students majoring in business administration, and students may be awarded the Francis Scholarship as entering freshmen or at anytime during the student’s academic experience at High Point University. Selection will be made by the Office of Financial Planning with priority being given to students who have obtained the recommendation of the Chairman of the Department of Business Administration. Scholarships will be automatically renewable upon successful completion of the previous year’s work.
