Dolen J. Bowers Endowed Scholarship

The Dolen J. Bowers Endowed Scholarship Fund was established in 2003 as a result of gifts from the Estate of Mr. Bowers who was a resident of Thomasville, NC. Mr. Bowers was an active businessman and entrepreneur in Central North Carolina, working in the lumber and timber business, and eventually becoming active in real estate holdings and development. Mr. Bowers died in June 2003. Candidates for the Dolen J. Bowers Scholarship will be students majoring in business or a related field of study. Scholarships are awardable for up to four years and are based upon successful completion of the previous year’s work. No other limitations or restrictions are placed upon the scholarship.
