Dr. Grover Angel Endowed Scholarship
The Grover L. Angel Endowed Scholarship was established in 2006 as a result of gifts from Dr. and Mrs. Angel’s estate. Dr. Angel was an alumnus of High Point College, Class of 1929. He spent a lifetime as an educator in Western North Carolina, and he was devoted to assisting students of high quality and ambition. Recipients will be native residents or those who have been residents of Madison County, NC for a duration of years with preference being given to those students who have been residents for the longest period of time. The students should meet the minimal education requirements for admission to High Point University and must continue to be a student in good standing, maintaining at least a 3.2 grade point average on a 4.0 scale. Scholarships may be renewable to sophomores, juniors or seniors as long as the other requirements of the scholarship are met. Preference will be given to students who are not participating in established inter-collegiate athletic programs at HPU but participating in intra-mural sports within the University community is encouraged. Preference will also be given to students who have the greatest demonstrated financial need.
