Dr. Lawrence B. Holt Scholarship

The Dr. Lawrence B. Holt Scholarship was established in May 1985 by a bequest from Dr. Holt. Dr. Holt was a member of the Class of 1940 and served as President of the High Point College Alumni Association from 1965 to 1967. Dr. Holt distinguished himself in his chosen professional field of Ophthalmology and was known for his leadership in the Eye Bank Program. Recipients of the Holt Scholarship will be selected by the Office of Financial Planning. First preference will be given to students demonstrating financial need. Students majoring in the health sciences or pre-med will receive priority in consideration. There are no geographical limitations with respect to the place of residence of the recipients and a recipient may receive grants in successive years based on satisfactory completion of the previous year’s work.
