Dr. Martha M. Gleaton Scholarship

The Martha M. Gleaton Endowed Scholarship was established in 1998 by family members and friends following Dr. Gleaton’s untimely death. Dr. Gleaton served as Associate Professor of English at High Point University from 1989 to 1998 and also was Chair of the English Department. Dr. Gleaton was beloved by her colleagues in the English Department and by her students. She was recognized for her sensitivity, compassion, and patience with all whom she met. The Martha M. Gleaton Scholarship will be awarded to students majoring in English Literature. Recipients will be selected by the Office of Financial Planning from recommendations made by the English Department faculty. The scholarship may be renewable upon completion of the previous year’s study with a 3.0 GPA.
