Emily Sutton and William Vance Kester Sr. Endowed Scholarship

The Kester Scholarship was established in 1994 through gifts from Mr. and Mrs. Gene C. Kester and other family members to honor their parents, Emily Sutton Kester and William Vance Kester, Sr. The Kesters have been lifelong residents of the High Point area. Mr. Kester directed the growth of Rose Furniture Company throughout his business career, and Mrs. Kester served as a devoted wife, mother and homemaker for the family. The Kester Family has been instrumental in the growth of High Point University since its founding in 1924. Preference in the selection of recipients will be given to students who are residents of North Carolina and who have a demonstrated financial need. Final determination of the recipients will be made by the University’s Office of Financial Planning. Scholarships will may be renewable based upon the successful completion of the previous year’s work.
