Henrietta Bundy Hester Harris and Junnie T. Hester, Sr. Scholarship

The Henrietta Bundy Hester Harris and Junnie T. Hester, Sr. Endowed Scholarship was established in 1984 by a gift from Mrs. Harris’ five children. Mrs. Harris graduated from High Point College with the Class of 1946. The principal sum of the fund shall be invested at the discretion of High Point University. Academic scholarship grant(s) shall be made annually from income earnings. Grants will be made according to need and the earnest desire of a recipient to complete his or her college education. First preference for grants will be given to students having a junior or senior class-standing and seeking a degree in Early Childhood or Primary Education. In the absence of an applicant meeting the first preference qualification, consideration may be given to a junior or senior majoring in any of the degree programs within the School of Education. Further preference will be given to North Carolina residents. Recipients of the Hester Scholarship will be selected by the Office of Financial Planning. Scholarships may be renewable based upon successful completion of the previous year’s work.
