Honors Academic Scholarship

The University Honors Scholarship was established in 1991 by faculty and staff and friends of the University in support of students in the Honors Program at High Point University. The recipient each year will be a rising senior member of the Honors Program who has distinguished himself or herself in academic merit as defined by Honors course and program standards. Accordingly, merit will be defined by a combination of grade point average (at least a 3.7), scholarly independence and creativity, classroom initiative, and (since the program crosses academic disciplines) interdisciplinary achievement. The recommendation will come from the Honors Committee as a result of reviewing nominations from the faculty. Recipients are rising seniors and are awarded yearly in late spring for the following year; award is presented during Awards Day.
