James Phillip Porter Memorial Scholarship

The James Phillip Porter Memorial Scholarship was established by Porter Brothers, Inc. of Shelby, NC, to honor the memory of their brother James, who was a member of the firm until his death in November 1979. Recipients of the Porter Memorial Scholarship will be selected by the Office of Financial Planning according to need and the earnest desire to attend college. The scholarship is open to freshmen and the scholarship may be renewable based upon the satisfactory completion of the previous year’s work. Priority will be given to students from Cleveland County, North Carolina.
