Joseph W. and Dorothy L. Holmes Scholarship

The Joseph W. and Dorothy Lamb Holmes Scholarship was established by a gift from Joseph W. Holmes in April 1979. Mr. Holmes and his wife, Dorothy Lamb Holmes, had provided for the funding of a scholarship in their wills, but Mr. Holmes decided to establish the fund in order to have the pleasure of seeing it used during his lifetime. Mr. and Mrs. Holmes wanted only to have the scholarship used to help deserving students to get an education at High Point University. Academic scholarship grants will be made annually and the scholarship may be renewable upon successful completion of the previous year’s work.
