L. Jack and Ella Shaw Spiers Scholarship

The Spiers Scholarship was established in 1998 by Jack and Shaw Spiers of Charlotte, NC. Mrs. Spiers was a realtor and real estate executive for over 30 years in Charlotte and Mecklenburg County. Mrs. Spiers was active in civic and charitable endeavors throughout her lifetime. The Spiers were members of Myers Park United Methodist Church. Recipients of the Spiers Scholarship will be based upon financial need with preference being given to students who possess and maintain strong academic records. Although any qualified student can be a candidate for the Spiers Scholarship, priority will be given to students who are pursuing a career in Christian service. Scholarships are automatically renewable upon successful completion of the previous year’s work.
