Lucile C. Myers Scholarship Fund

The Lucile Craven Myers Endowed Scholarship was established in 1974 by Mr. Gordon “Yogi” Yarborough to honor Mrs. Myers in appreciation for the guiding influence and encouragement she bestowed on him . Mrs. Myers taught English and French at Reeds High School and West Davidson High School in North Carolina. Mr. Yarborough was a successful High Point area businessman who owned and operated Yarborough and Company which manufactured accessories for the furniture industry. The scholarship is for students enrolled at High Point University who emulate the standards of character, civic responsibility, personal and academic achievement which Mrs. Myers wished for her students. Recipients of the Myers Scholarship will be selected by the Office of Financial Planning. Financial need will be considered. Candidates should be a graduate of West Davidson High School in Lexington, NC, or a resident of High Point, NC.
