Marjorie B. Welborn Endowed Scholarship

The Marjorie B. Welborn Endowed Scholarship was established in 2007 from gifts from the Estate of Marjorie B. Welborn. Mrs. Welborn was a graduate of High Point College Class of 1929 who majored in French. She spent all of her working career as a teacher in the High Point City School System. In death as in life, Mrs. Welborn was a generous philanthropist and through her generous giving is responsible for the creation of a number of support programs among non-profit organizations in and around High Point. Recipients of the Welborn Scholarship will be selected at the discretion of the Office of Financial Planning from students pursuing a major in Minor Foreign Language. Preference will be given to students in their sophomore, junior or senior years. Preference will also be given to students who have a demonstrated financial need. Scholarships will be renewable upon successful completion of the previous year’s work.
