Marjorie Kearns Hoffman Endowed Scholarship

The Marjorie Kearns Hoffman Endowed Scholarship was established in November 1997 through a gift from Mr. and Mrs. Hoffman of Summerfield, North Carolina. Mrs. Hoffman was a graduate of the Class of 1949 at High Point College. A native of High Point, Mrs. Hoffman grew up next to the campus on Circle Drive. She learned to skate, ride bicycles, and even ride her first horse on campus. Both Mr. and Mrs. Hoffman were involved in civic, community, and church-related activities throughout their lifetimes. The Hoffmans had three children – Pamela Jane; Louis B. (Rusty), Jr.; and Terri Kearns. Recipients of the Hoffman Scholarship will be selected by the Office of Financial Planning. Priority will be given to students preparing for a career in business, majoring in one or more of the programs in the Earl N. Phillips School of Business. Scholarships may be renewable based upon the successful completion of the previous year’s work.
