Mark and Debbie Linville Endowed Graduate Scholarship Fund
The Linville Endowed Graduate Scholarship was established by Mr. Mark and Dr. Debbie Linville in 2011. Mark graduated from High Point College in 1985 and went on to earn his MBA from Wake Forest University in 1991. After high school, Debbie went on to earn her initial elementary teaching license in 1983. She remained in the elementary classroom for over 20 years, obtained her M.Ed. in language and literacy in 1994, and eventually earned her Ph.D. in 2005. Dr. Linville has been teaching in higher education since 2001 and is a faculty member in the School of Education at High Point University. Both Mark and Debbie realize the importance of a quality education and value the lifelong impact a caring and knowledgeable teacher can have on an individual’s future. In an effort to help subsidize the cost of a quality education at High Point University, Mark and Debbie have established this scholarship. The School of Education and the Office of Financial Planning will manage applications for the Linville Graduate Scholarship. To be awarded to a student with significant academic potential and significant demonstrated financial need pursuing a graduate degree in elementary education, with a preference to a student from North Carolina.
