Nicholas A. Ungaro Sr.and Nicholas A. Ungaro Jr. Endowed Scholarship Fund

The Nicholas A. Ungaro Endowed Scholarship was established in 1999 as a result of gifts from Mr. Ungaro’s friends and family. Mr. Ungaro passed away in 1997 and was a founding member and past president of the American Society of Furniture Designers. During his long career he designed for such companies as Thomasville, American of Martinsville, and Ladd Industries. One of his dining tables designed for Pennsylvania House won the 1988 Award for Design Excellence. The scholarship funds will support young designers in the Interior Design or home furnishings program who strive for a high level of excellence. Scholarships may be awarded at any level of their academic experience at High Point University and may be renewable based upon successful completion of the previous year’s work. Recipients of the Ungaro Scholarship will be selected by the Office of Financial Planning.
