Pagon Family Promising Entrepreneurs Endowed Fund

The Pagon Family Promising Entrepreneurs Endowed Fund will invest in some of High Point University students’ most exciting business ventures. Students perform all due diligence, make investment decisions and interact with business leaders and successful entrepreneurs. The objectives of the Pagon Family Promising Entrepreneurs Endowed Fund are: to promote the creation and development of new ventures are High Point University; to provide University support and funding to the most innovative business ideas from undergraduate students; to provide undergraduate student entrepreneurs with direct exposure to mentors and/or investors and; to provide students a forum outside the classroom where they can develop skills in “pitching” their business ideas to capital providers and entrepreneurs and to receive constructive feedback, increasing the probability of the success of their venture. Applications will be reviewed by faculty and the Pagon family and will be scored based on innovation, feasibility and additional factors. Applications will be evaluated based on: business model clarity and viability, attractive investor possibilities, investor returns potential, realistic implementation and sustainability opportunities, product / service originality, market opportunity, team quality and competencies, financial feasibility, business plan and presentation quality and completeness. The review board will determine which projects are funded and the amount to which they will be funded. Chosen companies will be required to report back to the review board bi-annually on progress. The Pagon Family requests that recipients of the funds from The Pagon Family Promising Entrepreneurs Endowed Fund consider contributing philanthropic support to The Fund in the future if/when their business ventures are profitable.
