R. Warren & Mary J. Norman Endowed Scholarship
World War II had many profound effects on this world and on many lives. Warren Norman was a man who eagerly joined the Army and had his eyes opened to life outside of High Point, North Carolina. After returning home, Mr. Norman enrolled at High Point University and received invaluable guidance from Dr. Hobart, an economics professor, who guided Warren to a career in real estate and the selection of Rock Hill, South Carolina as a growth area conducive to a real estate career. Warren, with the help of his life partner, Mrs. Mary Johnson Norman (whom he met at High Point University), has enjoyed a wonderful career building homes and developing land. It is the hope of their children – Susan, Ralph, Carol and David – that the recipient of the scholarship funds will benefit from his or her time at High Point University as much as Warren and Mary Norman did, and that recipients believe, work and thrive in the free market system and opportunity provided by this great country. The Norman Scholarship was established in 2001 by Mr. and Mrs. Norman’s children. Priority will be given to individuals interested in and/or majoring in Business, Economics or Accounting.
