Ruby Isley Parker Scholarship
The Ruby Isley Parker Endowed Scholarship was established in January 2001 from gifts received from Mrs. Ruby Isley Parker, Class of 1928. A lifelong resident of Lillington, NC, Mrs. Parker was a teacher in the public schools in North Carolina. She was a member of the first four-year graduating class from High Point College. She and her husband had no children and, following their deaths, her entire estate was transferred to the University to establish this fund. Recipients will be students majoring in education and plan a career in the teaching field. Priority will be given to students who have demonstrated financial need. Recipients will be selected upon recommendation of the Dean of the School of Education and will be awarded by the Office of Financial Planning. Scholarships will be available for students at any class level and will be renewable upon successful completion of the previous year’s work.
