Santiago-Gandini School of Health Sciences Endowed Scholarship

The Santiago-Gandini School of Health Sciences Endowed Scholarship was established by Dr. Pedro E. Santiago and Dr. Liliana Gandini in February 2015. Dr. Santiago is world-renowned as a lecturer and author of scientific articles. He is currently the Director of Orthodontics and an Associate Consulting Professor of Surgery (Craniofacial Orthodontics) at Duke University. Dr. Liliana Gandini is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology as well as a member of numerous dental and periodontal societies, and author of various scientific journal articles. She has practiced periodontics and implant surgery for twenty years, and most recently has been appointed as Consulting Associate Professor of Surgery at Duke University. Dr. Santiago and Dr. Gandini, who enjoy golf, tennis, music and traveling, live in North Carolina. They have a daughter, Laura Santiago, who is in the Class of 2017 at High Point University, and a son, Mario, who attends UNC-Chapel Hill. The donors wish to assist students majoring in the health sciences. Recipients should demonstrate financial need which will be determined by the Office of Financial Planning.
