Sarah Marie Wood Memorial Endowed Scholarship Fund

The Sarah Marie Wood Memorial Scholarship was established by her parents, Roy L. and Rebekah K. Wood in August 2015. Sarah earned an academic scholarship to attend High Point University where she graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2009 with dual degrees in Business and Spanish. She was active in Spanish Club and other HPU activities. Sarah was visiting a friend in New Mexico when she was suddenly stricken with a pulmonary embolism and, in spite of the best efforts of doctors in New Mexico and Texas, Sarah passed away on October 21, 2014. Recipients of the Sarah Marie Wood Memorial Endowed Scholarship will be selected on the basis of financial need as determined by the High Point University Office of Financial Planning. First preference will be given to a rising Junior or Senior who is majoring in Business. The scholarship will be renewable upon successful completion of the previous year’s work.
