Shirley Rawley Endowed Scholarship

The Shirley Rawley Endowed Scholarship was established in May 2013 as a scholarship fund in the Department of English to honor retired faculty member, Professor Shirley Rawley, and her dedication to fostering the art of creative writing in students for many years. The Fund will provide scholarship support annually in the amount of $10,000 to an aspiring creative writer who may not otherwise be able to afford their education at High Point University. Recipients of the Shirley Rawley Endowed Scholarship will be selected by the Office of Financial Planning. The scholarship is need based with preference going to a student pursuing a degree in English or Education with a focus on creative writing while maintaining a GPA of not less than 70%. No geographic or gender restrictions are placed on the Shirley Rawley Scholarship.
