Thomas Carey Ilderton, Jr. Endowed Scholarship
The Thomas Carey Ilderton, Jr. Endowed Scholarship was established in 2006 by his beloved wife, Sandy. The Ildertons were lifelong residents of High Point and Mr. Ilderton was a prominent businessman in the Piedmont Triad. He was Chairman of the Board of the High Point Museum and served as Vice President and General Manager of Ilderton Dodge-Chrysler-Jeep of High Point. Sandy was a devoted wife and mother. Both were involved in the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. Recipients of the Thomas Carey Ilderton, Jr. Endowed Scholarship will be selected by the Office of Financial Planning based on demonstrated financial need and academic merit. Recipients should have strong academic credentials, be well-rounded, and residents of North Carolina. They should be actively involved in the High Point University community and in the commitment of service to the broader High Point community. Students must be pursuing a degree in the School of Business and show a demonstrated financial need. Scholarships will be automatically renewable upon successful completion of the previous year’s work.
