Toye and Richard Payne Scholarship for Athletics Endowed Fund
The Toye and Richard Payne Scholarship For Athletics Endowed Fund was established in March 2015 as a deferred estate gift by the Reverend Richard and Mrs. Toye C. Payne of Kernersville, NC. Mrs. Payne is a graduate of the Class of 1975 majoring in Mathematics. Recipients of the Toye and Richard Payne Scholarship For Athletics will be selected by the Office of Financial Planning and must be a member of one of High Point University’s intercollegiate athletic teams in good social and academic standing. Preference will be given to those who demonstrate significant financial need with the combined income of the student’s parents and/or guardians not to exceed $200,000. Recipients must demonstrate a strong Christian faith through participation in HPU’s campus ministries, a local church, or another religious organization deemed acceptable by the High Point University Office of Financial Planning. Preference will also be given to student-athletes who have demonstrated a desire to enter into Christian ministry after graduation. The Toye and Richard Payne Scholarship for Athletics may be renewable upon the successful completion of the previous year’s academic work.
