Vann and Ann York Endowed Scholarship

The Vann and Ann York Endowed Scholarship was established in 1993 by gifts from Mr. and Mrs. W. Vann York of High Point. Mr. York is a life member of the High Point University Board of Trustees, has served on the Executive Committee, and as Chair of the Institutional Advancement Committee. He has been a preeminent businessman in the City of High Point serving as CEO and Chair of Vann York Auto Group. Mrs. York has been a longstanding civic leader in High Point, and both have had many years of volunteer service at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church and the Western North Carolina Conference of the Methodist Church. Priority will be given to employees and/or their dependents of Vann York Auto Group. Scholarships will be made available to students in the undergraduate or graduate programs based upon availability of income produced by the scholarship endowment. In the event that no candidate is available, the scholarship may be awarded on an annual basis to other deserving students. Scholarships will be automatically renewable upon successful completion of the previous year’s work.
