Wayland Linthicum Scholarship

The Wayland H. Linthicum, Jr. Endowed Scholarship was established in 1996 by friends and family of Mr. Linthicum and by the High Point University Panther Club. Mr. Linthicum was a prominent local businessman and an avid supporter of High Point athletics as demonstrated when he helped organize an informal group of local businessmen during the mid-1950’s in support of the intercollegiate athletic program at High Point College, a group now known as The Panther Club. Recipients are students who participate in intercollege athletics at High Point University. Students should have a solid academic record and consideration will be given to students who have a demonstrated financial need. Top priority will be given to recipients from the State of North Carolina. Scholarships will be automatically renewable upon successful completion of their previous year’s work.
