William F. '67 and Carole P. Fanning Endowed Scholarship

The WiJliam F.‘67 and Carole P. Fanning Endowed Scholarship was established in November, 2019 by Carole P. Fanning in memory of her husband, William F. Fanning ’67. "In loving memory and tribute to the man who made all my dreams come true, this scholarship is established to help future students’ dreams come true."
Carole and William (Bill) met while growing up in upstate New York. While Bill attended High Point University, Carole would occasionally visit him. They married after Bill graduated in 1967. During his 50-year career, Bill was nationally known for his expertise in accounting practices crucial for major architects, engineers, and contractors. He was also instrumental in establishing the Professional Services Management Journal (PSMJ). Bill’s passion for accounting began at High Point University. Carole meanwhile worked for the Southern Industrial Relations Conference in Atlanta for many years. Carole and Bill have a son and a daughter, and five grandchildren. The Fannings made their home in Canton, Georgia.
The William F.‘67 and Carole P. Fanning Endowed Scholarship will be given to a recipient( s) selected on the basis of financial need from eligible undergraduate students as determined by the High Poin( University Office of Financial Planning. First preference will be given to rising sophomores, juniors, or seniors at High Point University. This Scholarship may be renewable upon the successful completion of the previous year’s academic work.
