Dr. E. Vera Idol Memorial Scholarship
The Dr. E. Vera Idol Memorial Scholarship was established by contributions from alumni, relatives and friends following the death of Dr. Idol on July 17, 1977. Dr. Idol was Professor of English at High Point College from its founding in 1924 until her retirement in 1958. She later taught evening classes at the College from 1961 until 1967. She was the recipient of the honorary Doctor of Literature degree from the College on the occasion of its fiftieth anniversary in 1974. Recipients of the E. Vera Idol Memorial Scholarship will be selected by the High Point University Alumni Association Board Scholarship Committee with first preference going to students majoring in English. Recipient will be an upper-classman having a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0. This is an Alumni Association Scholarship
